A new food tourism network is to be set up in Athlone for local food businesses and outlets

Efforts are underway to establish a new food tourism network in Athlone.

Athlone Chamber of Commerce is seeking funding for the online project as a way of boosting tourism by creating a one stop shop for people to browse the town and wider region's food offerings all in one place.

It will promote Athlone food outlets online and see multiple businesses working together to market the area.
