Roscommon is one of two counties which is to see a special farm safety pilot project rolled out over the next year.
The project is being funded by the Department of Agriculture under the European Innovation Partnership and will build on the work of several key prior initiatives in farm safety.
The initiatives have involved work on farmers' physical health as well as mental health concerns.

The FarmConnect pilot will roll out over a 12-month period and will involve the development of a scalable national programme to address farmer health and wellbeing in a sustainable, coherent manner.
