A new €8 million school building could be opened in Ballaghaderreen within the next two years. The Board of Management of St Attracta's National School applied for planning permission for the long-awaited project this week. The development will consist of the construction of a major extension which will consist of ten new classrooms and a PE hall.
St Attracta's Principal Noel Loftus says the capital works are needed as the school now caters for over 300 students. He says the entire school community is looking forward to working and learning in the new building:
