The N63 between Lanesboro and Longford Town has closed for a period of six weeks.
Longford County Council says the closure is to facilitate pavement improvement works between Kilashee Village and Gowlan.
The closure will be in effect until Friday, August 28th.
When travelling from Longford, motorists are being diverted onto the R397 to Terlicken and then R392 to Lanesboro.
While motorists travelling from Lanesboro will be diverted onto the R392 to Terlicken and then turn left and take the R397 to Ballymacormack.
Traffic exiting Longford will be unable to access Killashee village along the N63 during the road closure.
In the interest of road safety, motorists are requested to follow diversions and heed all signs.
