The N5 at Scramogue Cross outside Strokestown has re-opened this evening following a fatal road traffic collision this morning.
Three cars were involved in the collision and Gardai have appealed for information or dash-cam footage from any other motorist on the route around 8 o'clock this morning.
The woman who died was in her fifties and was from the Strokestown area.

The Christmas lights Covid friendly switch-on due to take place at half-past seven this evening for Strokestown has been cancelled as a mark of respect, and a Santa drive-thru which had been planned for this weekend has also been postponed.
