The N4 remains closed westbound following a serious road crash near Lough Owel this morning.
One person has been taken to hospital in Mullingar with serious injuries following the two car collision which occurred just after 7am this morning.
The road was closed in both directions but the eastbound carriageway of the N4 has now re-opened but traffic travelling west is still being diverted and delays are being reported Gardaí and emergency services remain at the scene.
