A multi-million euro plan for major development works at Lough Key Forest and Activity Park have been given the green light. Coillte's proposal includes upgrades to the visitor centre, new activity hubs, enhanced outdoor attractions and new aqua park facility. They confirmed this morning that Roscommon County Council have granted planning permission for the project.
Coillte says the next step is to secure funding partners to progress the project to construction, with engagements commencing in due course. They also say their aim is to enhance the Park’s existing offerings to encourage local, national and international visitors to spend more time in Co. Roscommon, which will in turn increase the economic activity within both the local and wider economy. Local Minister Frank Feighan says it's great news for the area:
