Roscommon Gardaí have arrested a motorist for driving 60 kilometres per hour over the speed limit.
The local Roads Policing Unit were carrying out speed checks in the Boyle area when they detected the vehicle.
The driver was travelling at 166 KPH in a 100 kilometre per hour zone.
When stopped, Gardaí discovered they were a novice driver with no N-Plates displayed.
They were arrested and will face a court date in the near future.
