A motion of no confidence in the Garda Commissioner is to be considered at the annual Garda Representative Association conference today.
The GRA conference is continuing today in Westport, Co Mayo.It’s expected that an emergency motion of no confidence in the Garda Commissioner will be put forward at the GRA annual conference here in Westport today.There has been an ongoing row over Garda rosters for some time, with members fearing a return to unworkable and unpredictable shifts.
Yesterday Drew Harris was jeered and heckled by rank and file members when he addressed the conference. He claimed he had already compromised in the ongoing rosters row.However yesterday it was said that those comments couldn’t be further from the truth. The motion of no confidence in the Garda Commissioner will be discussed this morning before members then decide whether to vote on it or not.
