A new Cathaoirleach and Leas Cathaoirleach have been elected to the Carrick On Shannon Municipal District this week.
At the district's annual general meeting earlier in the week, two local councillors were appointed to take over the roles.
Mohill Fine Gael Councillor Thomas Mulligan was voted in as Chair at the meeting, while Fianna Fail's Sean McGowan took the position of Leas Cathaoirleach.

Councillor Mulligan will take over from Councillor Paddy Farrell for the next year.
