Revenue officers have seized contraband worth more than €1 million in a series of intelligence-led and risk-profiled operations across the country including the Midlands.
The multi-agency detections encompassed illegal drugs, tobacco products, counterfeit goods and alcohol, and form part of Revenue’s ongoing efforts to disrupt organised smuggling and protect the Exchequer.
Drug detections over the week included:
Over 7.2 kg of herbal cannabis worth more than €144,280
1.71 kg of cannabis edibles valued at over €1,700
111 ml of cannabinoid liquid worth over €1,290
20.3 g of ketamine valued at over €1,200
Various other illicit drugs worth over €3,380
Tobacco products accounted for the majority of the week’s haul, valued at more than €861,550 and representing a potential revenue loss of nearly €661,470.
