MEP Flanagan describes new CAP as 'fudge' on climate change

The Roscommon man is unhappy with efforts to tackle climate change

The new Common Agricultural Policy is 'a total and utter fudge' regarding climate change, according to an Irish MEP.

EU agriculture ministers yesterday backed a provisional agreement that was struck on Friday. The new CAP will start in 2023, and it will eventually involve 25 per cent of payments being set aside for eco-schemes

But Midlands-Northwest MEP, Luke 'Ming' Flanagan, says the deal doesn't do enough to tackle farming emissions.
