The median annual earnings for people living in the Shannonside region was just under €41,000 last year. This figure is below the national average of €44,816, according to the latest figures from the Central Statistics Office. The CSO figures for 2024 show the median annual earnings for people living in the Shannonside region was €40,734 last year. Roscommon had the highest median earnings among the three Shannonside counties at €42,150. This was followed by Leitrim at €41,162. Longford had one of the lowest median annual earnings in the country at €38,857.
Meanwhile, the median earnings for women in Roscommon was almost €5,000 less than man at just over €39,000. In Leitrim, it was €42,767 for men and €39,159 for women.
