Mask wearing for students to end this month

Meanwhile the National Bus and Rail Union is calling for facemasks still to be made mandatory on public transport beyond February 28th.

It will no longer be mandatory for school children and staff to wear masks from February 28th.

NPHET decided people will also no longer have to wear them in shops and on public transport.

The Chief Medical Officer Tony Holohan is recommending NPHET be stood down.

Labour Education Spokesperson Aodhán Ó Ríordáin is worried schools are not ready for mask wearing to be eased:
