A man has been seriously injured in an alleged assault in Longford Town this morning.
The male in his 20s was airlifted to the Mater Hospital in Dublin where he is being treated for serious but non life threatening injuries.
The incident took place on the Dublin road close to a local national school in the town just after 9am.

Its understood the alleged assault involved a number of individuals.
Gardaí are investigating the incident and are asking anyone with dash cam or camera footage to make it available to Longford Garda Station.
