A 36-year-old man, charged with the murder of a man in Co Leitrim, is due to reappear in court today.
The man who died is a 41-year-old who's originally from Latvia.
Janis Balodis was pronounced dead after being found unresponsive at a home in Arderry, between Ballinamore and Carrigallen, last Thursday night.
Bartosz Cylka, aged 36, with an address at Arderry, Corrawaleen, was charged with his murder on Saturday.
Detective Sergeant Michael Kelly, from Carrick-on-Shannon Garda Station, gave evidence of arrest, charge, and caution.
Mr Cylka, wearing black trousers and a top and blue runners, had no legal representation but was assisted by a Polish interpreter.
The state applied to remand Mr Cylka in custody.
Judge Eiteáin Cunningham said the accused could not make an application for bail in the district court, given the nature of the charges.
She remanded him in custody to appear again in Carrick-on-Shannon District Court today.
