Gardaí have confirmed a man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving in Ballymahon this morning.
Multiple units of gardaí rushed to the scene of an incident on the Athlone road this morning just after 9.30am.

At least three garda cars and van attended the scene following reports of an altercation.
A man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of being intoxicated while driving and investigations are ongoing.
