Elsewhere on local waterways, masters of vessels are being warned that low hanging wires are still presenting a risk at Hartley Bridge between Carrick on Shannon and Leitrim Village.

The wires are currently hanging 1.5 metres under the bridge on the Southern side and will pose a risk to any vessels with high profiles.

Those using the waterway are urged to use extreme caution when navigating under the bridge with low speed highly advised.

Waterways Ireland has contacted ESB to address the issue as a priority.
