Longford's water quality issues to be discussed at online meeting tonight

The public consultation on the major plan from the government and Irish Water is underway until March.

People in two Longford Municipal Districts will get an opportunity to discuss issues around water quality in their region at an online meeting tonight.

Communities across the Granard and Longford M.Ds are encouraged to take part in the meeting to discuss the draft River Basin Management Plan which is under public consultation until the end of March.

The Local Authority Waters Programme is hosting a meeting at 7.30pm to provide information local information on the Upper Shannon, Erne, Camlin and Lough Forbes Catchments.

Attendees will have also the opportunity to hear from LAWPRO representatives on the factors affecting water quality in their local area

There will also be guidance on how to make a submission on the Draft River Basin Management Plan for Ireland 2022 - 2027 and details on how to register can be found at www.lawaters.ie
