The CEO of Longford Womens Link says it was a missed opportunity not to appoint more female chairpersons of Oireachtas Committees this week.
Tara Farrell was speaking as the chairpersons for various Oireachtas Committees were finalised this week.
It comes after criticism earlier this year at the lack of female Ministers appointed following the formation of the Government.
Farrell says the appointments this week sends a message that gender inequality isn't as high up the priority list as it should be:
