An empty seat on Longford county council will be filled early next month. The Fine Gael selection convention to fill Paraic Brady's seat will take place on the 3rd of April. The Drumlish councillor was voted into Seanad Éireann last month on the Agriculture Panel. Nominations for the seat will close on the 24th of March, with the convention taking place a week later in Colmcille Community Centre.
Possibilities to fill the seat include former councillor Colin Dalton who lost his seat in June by a handful of votes. Also in the running is Cian Brady, the brother of Senator Brady.
