Longford public to have their say on need for new family resource centre

The consultation will take place at the Longford Arms Hotel on Monday the 23rd of September from 6 to 7 pm.

A public consultation on the need for a family resource centre in Longford Town will be held early next week. Family resource centres provide a range of services and development opportunities to address the needs of families in the area. Longford Town has been without such a service for many years, with calls for one coming from the public, community leaders and local politicians. The consultation will take place at the Longford Arms Hotel on Monday the 23rd of September from 6 to 7 pm.

The report is being undertaken by the Longford Public Participation Network with all welcome to attend. Local Fianna Fail TD Joe Flaherty says there is no doubt of the need for the service and he is hopeful budget 2025 will see funds ring-fenced for their provision nationwide:
