Longford's first ever Pride Festival has been officially launched at a special event in the town. The 'Pride Launch' event was held at Longford Library yesterday to kick off the festivities, which will formally begin on the 15th of June. A Pride parade through the town, craft activities and after-parties are some of the events set to be included on the programme.
Organisers are calling on members of the public to get involved regardless of if they are a part of the LGBTQ+ community. These people spoke to Shannonside FM news about what having a local Pride festival means to them:
