With IDA Ireland close to securing a site in Longford for an advanced factory, attention must now turn to building infrastructure for employees.
That's the view of local Fianna Fail Councillor Seamus Butler who says that any influx of employees to a new factory or business will need increased services to live locally.
At a meeting of Longford County Council yesterday, IDA management confirmed that the site, which is near Longford Town and within the N4 bypass, is in the final stages of being secured.
The facility has long been called for by local representatives who believe the site could become home to a large scale employer in the county.
