Longford native who died in workplace accident remembered as 'community man'

Shane Carrigy, who was 45, was the manager of Carrigy's Coaches, a leading transport operator based in Ballinalee.

A Longford native who died in a workplace accident this week has been remembered as a man "deeply connected to family, parish, county and country."
Shane Carrigy, who was 45, was the manager of Carrigy's Coaches, a leading transport operator based in Ballinalee.

His funeral mass was held at the Holy Trinity Church in Ballinalee, where gifts brought to altar showcased his love for music and sport.
His father Michael also passed away yesterday.
The mass heard Shane had spent his life carrying people and supporting his community:
