Longford man pleads guilty to attempted murder

The incident occurred two months before the criminal targetted by the Longford man was shot dead

A Longford man has pleaded guilty to at the attempted murder of a criminal in Dublin almost two years ago.

Wayne Ryan, of Lanna Aoibheann, Longford town, came before the Central Criminal Court on Monday.

The 41-year-old pleaded guilty to the attempted murder of Wayne Whelan at Griffeen Glen Park, Lucan, Co Dublin on September 4th, 2019.

Three other men also pleaded guilty to conspiring to murder the well-known criminal who died in a separate incident in November 2019. All four were remanded in custody ahead of their sentencing which is due on July 12th.
