A Longford town man has appeared in court in the US to face child sex-abuse charges in Texas.
He could be jailed for life if convicted.
Matthew Liam Johnstone, 36, is from Longford town but had been living in Dublin in recent years.
After an investigation by the FBI, he was extradited from Ireland to Houston last Thursday, to face charges of coercion and enticement and exploitation of a child in Texas.
He made an initial appearance in front of Judge Jason B Libby in court in Corpus Christi in Texas last Friday morning.
It's alleged Johnstone coerced a minor into filming and photographing herself engaging in sexually explicit conduct.
The acts allegedly included elements of sadism and bestiality.
If convicted, Johnstone faces up to life in prison and a possible US$250,000 fine.
