The head of the Irish Medical Organisation doesn't believe there needs to be significant changes to the government's vaccination roll out plan.

The vaccination of over-85s is expected to go ahead as planned this month.

That's despite a decision not to use the AstraZeneca vaccine for over-70s in the majority of circumstances.

GPs say they will be able to get over the logistical challenges of using the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines which need to be stored at much lower temperatures.

Longford GP Dr Padraig McGarry says sticking to the current levels and plans for vaccinating age groups and sectors first is a wise move:
