Gardaí have seized close to €5,000 worth of drugs in Co. Longford. During a routine patrol, Longford Gardaí stopped a vehicle which was being driven by a disqualified driver. A search of the car was carried out and €2,000 worth of cocaine and €200 worth of cannabis was found. The driver was arrested at the scene and the vehicle was seized.
Follow-up searches of the motorist's home uncovered a further €2,500 worth of cannabis, bringing the total seizure to €4,700. The individual was charged with numerous offences including possession of drugs for sale or supply, and driving without car insurance or a driving licence. They will now face a court sitting at a later date.
