The passing of award-winning actor Gary Lydon has been described locally as an 'incredible loss.'
The IFTA award winner has died at the age of 61, and was best known for his role in 'The Banshees of Inisherin' and his appearances in 'Love/Hate' and 'The Clinic.'
He was born in London to Irish parents, before moving to Wexford as a child.
In recent years, he was based in Co. Roscommon, where he lived with his wife Kara Doherty, daughter of the late Fianna Fáil TD Seán Doherty.
Gary Lydon also played the character of Bernie in the movie 'Lakelands,' which was shot in Granard.
