Longford County Council are seeking Part 8 planning permission for a significant development at a well-known Longford housing estate. The recreational development is planned for the Estate Green at Palace Crescent, Ardnacassagh on the Ballinalee Road. Plans include improved pedestrian links, severance of the existing circular traffic layout and the development of a children's playground and multi use games area pitch.
Included in the design for the playground, is a zip line and the re-use of the existing road surface for play art and informal seating. The plans for the development are available to view at Longford Council buildings on Great Water Street with submissions open until the fourth of November. Longford MD Councillors will decide on the application later this year.
