A Longford based food tech business that announced 200 new jobs for the town yesterday is already looking towards its next expansion. School meals provider, Food Village, has invested €3 million in a production facility on the Athlone Road in Longford town. The high tech food production facility is expanding from providing hot meals for 70,000 students to 130,000 once the expansion is complete. Food Village CEO Richie Nangle says an increase in public infrastructure such as more housing and public transport will support employees:
Local Councillor Martin Monaghan is hopeful that yesterday's job announcement is only the start of the company's growth.
