The chairman of one of the oldest agricultural shows in the region is welcoming a new band of government funding for this summer.
Longford Agricultural Show was held for the first time in 1902 and has evolved into a family and musical event attended by thousands every year.
The show has received €9,200 in funding announced by Minister Dara Calleary over the weekend.
It comes as part of a total of €80,000 allocated for ten shows across Longford, Leitrim, and Roscommon.
