Long-standing tidy towns volunteer retires

One of the country's longest serving tidytowns volunteers has retired after over 50 years.

Pat Garvey started working with Ballintubber Tidy Towns in county Roscommon in 1974.

But he has decided to quit at the age of 86.

Another of the group's long-serving members, Eileen Kenny, stepped down in November after a similar term.
