A well known local timber company has received planning permission for a significant staff welfare facility at its Longford base. Glennon Brothers Timber was founded over 100 years ago and is now considered a major industry player in the provision of timber products. The company is seeking the works at their Longford plant off the Dublin Road.
Plans include the construction of a new timber clad welfare building containing lunch room, locker rooms and toilet facilities. The application was granted with 16 planning conditions attached. One includes a ruling that prior to commencement, the requirements of Inland Fisheries Ireland will be sought and followed so as to protect nearby waterways.
