A local TD has welcomed news that the GP service in Lanesboro will be maintained as part of a new contract recently signed. It follows news last month that a new doctor was appointed to start work in Lanesboro in May.
The post had been advertised three times since March of last year but now a candidate has been identified. Longford-Westmeath TD Micheal Carrigy says it's positive news for the area:
