A local TD says the number of outstanding bench warrants in the Shannonside region is 'absolutely staggering'.
Sinn Féin's Sorca Clarke was speaking following the release of figures by the Minister of Justice following a parliamentary question.
There are 1,012 outstanding warrants in the Mayo/Roscommon/Longford division and 645 in Sligo/Leitrim.
Meanwhile, there are over 1,700 in the Meath/Westmeath division which includes the Athlone area.
