The Dáil has heard that many who live in co. Fermanagh wish to be part of the European Union. Sligo-Leitrim TD Martin Kenny raised the matter of reunification. Ireland's term holding the presidency of the EU began on Wednesday.
Tánaiste Simon Harris previously stated Fine Gael will develop a "blueprint for a unified island" by November. Sinn Féin Deputy Kenny believes there would be a number of benefits to reunification:
