Local TD says HVO should be produced in Ireland

The fuel is a greener alternative to diesel and when used, there is a 90% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.

A local TD and former Climate Action Minister has called for incentives to be provided to farmers for producing Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil. It was announced earlier this week that Casey's Circle K in Roscommon Town are the first service station in the county to sell HVO.

The fuel is a greener alternative to diesel and when used, there is a 90% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. Speaking on the Joe Finnegan Show today, Roscommon-Galway Independent TD Denis Naughten believes we should be producing our own HVO rather than importing it from abroad:
