Local TD raises concerns over proposed Mercusor deal

A local TD has raised concerns over the proposed Mercusor deal with the European Commissioner.

If passed, the agreement would see beef enter the EU at a much reduced tariff rate, in a blow to Irish farmers.

The Irish Farmers Journal released a wide ranging investigation into the difference in regulation and safety levels between beef from here and Brazil.

While this month, the European Council will decide whether to back it.
