A local TD has highlighted the lack of a special school in Co. Leitrim in the Dáil. Sinn Féin TD Martin Kenny was speaking during a debate on school transport. Earlier this year, Longford Senator Joe Flaherty said a lack of a special school in Leitrim was putting significant pressure on schools in surrounding counties.
Deputy Kenny says children in Leitrim are having to travel to Roscommon and Longford as there's no special school in the county:
