A local TD is calling for tougher bail laws after 'worrying' new crime figures linked to suspected offenders.
Over 800 crimes were committed by people on bail in the Shannonside region last year.
Justice Minister Jim O'Callaghan says there were 524 in Roscommon, Longford and Mayo - and 313 in Leitrim and Sligo.
