Local TD backs Ambulance staff action

The workers are set to picket outside ambulance stations in Roscommon, Boyle and Loughglynn tomorrow for 24 hours.

County Roscommon is in a 'particularly vulnerable' position because it does not have an A&E unit in place.

That's according to local Sinn Féin TD Claire Kerrane, who has welcomed the ongoing nationwide industrial action on behalf of SIPTU ambulance staff.

The workers are set to picket outside ambulance stations in Roscommon, Boyle and Loughglynn tomorrow for 24 hours.

The local representative says Roscommon has been neglected by the HSE for a long time:

SIPTU ambulance staff are calling on the National Ambulance Service to reflect staff salary scales with the changes in their workload over the last 20 years
