The Department of Migration says international-protection applicants will not be accommodated in Academy House on Goff Street.

A Sinn Fein TD says she's glad a decision has finally been made on the controversial IPAS centre proposed for Roscommon town. The Department of Migration says international-protection applicants will not be accommodated in Academy House on Goff Street. It confirms it received an offer from the property, but it's no longer under consideration.

There was controversy over the proposals when they were lodged with An Bord Pleanála. Roscommon-Galway TD, Claire Kerrane, welcomes the clarity provided by the department last night:
