A local Senator has highlighted major gaps in Ireland’s postnatal care, which currently ends just six weeks after birth.
Sligo-Leitrim Senator Nessa Cosgrove has called for year-long postnatal support, expanded mental health services, physical recovery care, and workplace flexibility.
She urged the Government to fund nationwide postnatal hubs to ensure every mother receives comprehensive support for the first year.
