A local Senator says it's critical an hourly rail service from Longford to Dublin is implemented by 2027.
Fianna Fáil Senator Joe Flaherty was speaking in the Seanad during a discussion on the All-Island Rail Review.
Senator Flaherty also called for a reduction in the travel time between Longford and the Capital.

He raised the issue with Junior Transport Minister Seán Canney this week.
