There are 16 children in Slatta National School in Rooskey - but that's set to drop to eight or ten in September.

A Roscommon school is in danger of losing a teacher because its pupil numbers are set to drop below 10. There are 16 children in Slatta National School in Rooskey - but that's set to drop to eight or ten in September.

They'll lose a teacher for the 2026-2027 school year if that doesn't increase. Nollaig Feeney is on the board of management of the school, which was established 134 years ago:
