Shannonside residents are being urged to lock up and stay vigilant this festive season to prevent crime.
An Garda Síochána's 'Lock up, Light up' campaign is now in full swing as part of Operation Thor.
Statistics show that almost half of burglaries occur between 5pm and 11pm during the winter months.
With this in mind, local Gardaí are reminding people to secure their properties and look out for vulnerable neighbours.
