Local MEP welcomes plans for new €1bn data centre in Co. Westmeath

The project will be spearheaded by Lumcloon Energy and the centre will achieve energy independence from the national grid.

A local MEP says a €1 billion investment to build a cutting-edge data centre in Co. Westmeath is a boost for the midlands. Midlands-Northwest MEP Barry Cowen believes the transformative project is a positive news story with the development set to take place in Rochfortbridge.

The project will be spearheaded by Lumcloon Energy and the centre will achieve energy independence from the national grid. Speaking to Shannonside FM News, Fianna Fáil MEP Barry Cowen welcomed the proposed project:
