Sligo Leitrim Mental Health Services was recently honoured with a HSE Excellence award following the development of its Crisis Resolution Team. The project aims to provide an alternative to hospital admission for people experiencing a mental health crisis.
The Crisis Resolution Team works intensively with patients in their own homes following a referral from a GP or hospital. Speaking to Shannonside Northern Sound, Elizabeth Gethins, Consultant Psychiatrist, said the award was welcome recognition for the team's work:
